Leh / Nubra Valley/ Leh/ Changthang / Leh
Day 01: Leh (3400m)
Upon arrival at the Kushok Bakula airport in Leh, at an altitude of 3500m, Altitude Adventure representative will assist in transfer to the hotel. Overnight in hotel/guest house.
Day 02: Leh (3400m)
A day trip to Shey Palace, Thiksey Monastery, Hemis Monastery to understand the ancient cultures of this beautiful trans-himalayan region. Overnight in hotel/guest house.
Day 03 and 04: Explore Nubra Valley
Cross one of the world’s highest passes, Khardung La (18,000ft +) and descend into Nubra Valley. Nubra lies at the intersection of the high Karakorum mountains the Western Tibetan Plateau, and the Ladakh Range. Nubra is beautiful in many ways for the photographer. It offers a lot of opportunities for portraits, some high mountains that serve well in landscape photos and the two humped camels of the area are particularly photogenic when paired with the dunes of Hunder and the snow clad peaks behind. Explore Nubra valley for a half day and a full day. Overnight in Hunder at hotel/guest house.
Day 05 : Return to Leh
Cross the high pass of Khardung La and return to Leh. Free afternoon in Leh. Overnight in hotel/guest house.
Day 06- 07: Changthang
Set-out towards the high altitude lake of Tso Moriri besides the small village of Korzok. Explore the monastery of Korzok, one of the highest in the world and get some fantastic portraits there. In the evening, see what mother nature has in store for you for sunset and get some spectacular photos of Tso Moriri lake and the high mountains that surround it. Overnight at guest/house or hotel in Korzok. On your second day in Changthang, explore the landscapes around, try your hand at astro photography or trek to the nearby viewpoint for a t0p down view of the lake.
Day 08: Return to Leh
Return to Leh via the lake of Tso Kar and then cross Taglang La. Tso Kar lake is famous for its bird life which includes Black Necked Cranes, lammergeirs, golden eagles, and several other rare and endemic species.
Day 09: Fly out
An altitude adventure representative will escort you to the airport for your flight out. Or else, speak to us about an extension tour to explore more of beautiful Ladakh.
