Day 1: Srinagar Arrival
Arrival at the city of Srinagar. Meet our tour guide, who will assist you in transferring to a houseboat on Dal Lake/ Nagin Lake. Finish the check-in procedures. Lunch is followed by a Shikara ride on the calm waters of the Lake, which is one of Srinagar’s most popular activities. Prepare to explore the magnificent Mughal Gardens, which were established during the Mughal era. The Mughal gardens include Nishat Bagh, Chashme-e-Shahi, and Shalimar Bagh. Stay in Srinagar for the night.
Day 2 Srinagar – Kargil (204 km / 6-7 hours)
After breakfast on day 2, prepare for your road transfer to Kargil. Sonamarg – a beautiful valley with lush vistas and a snow-capped mountain; Zo jila Pass (a high altitude pass); and Drass Village – the world’s second coldest inhabited area – are all stops along the journey. The War Memorial Hall and Museum, commonly known as Vijaypath, are located here. The memorial was built by the Indian Army in honour of the Indian Army troops and commanders who lost their lives in the Kargil War. Arrival at Kargil in the evening. Formalities of check-in. Stay in Kargil for the night.
Day 3: Kargil – Leh
Start driving towards Leh after breakfast. Stop for a brief visit at the Lamayuru monastery along the route. Lamayuru is noted for its unusual scenery, which resembles that of the moon. Take photographs of the beauty to keep as treasured memories. Keep on on your journey. Stop at Magnetic Hill to take in the incredible natural beauty. Pay your respects to the Pathar Sahib Gurudwara, which was built in honour of Guru Nanak Dev ji, the Sikh religion’s founder and first guru. Continue your journey on the highway. When you arrive in Leh, pay a visit to the Hall of Fame Museum, a battle memorial built by the Indian Army in honour of Indian troops who died in the Indo-Pak conflicts. At your hotel, complete the check-in procedures. Stay in Leh for the night.
Day 4 Leh
On the fourth day, leave your beds early after breakfast for a day of leisure, and spend the evening at the hotel.
Day 5 Leh – Nubra Valley (120 km / 4-5 hours)
After breakfast on the fifth day, prepare to go to the beautiful Nubra Valley through the Khardungla Pass, one of the world’s highest motorable highways at 18,380 feet. Check into the motel as soon as you arrive in the Valley. Take a break for lunch. Later, leave the comforts of your accommodation and explore the Sand Dunes between Deskit and Hundur Village on the back of a double-humped camel. Allow your eyes to be drawn to the landscape all around you. Nubra Valley is where you’ll spend the night.
Day 6 Nubra Valley – Pangong via Shayok River or Warila pass 120 Kms/ 4-5 Hrs
After breakfast, visit Deskit Monastery (Big Buddha) for a spectacular view of Nubra Valley and then travel to Pangong Lake, 14,500 feet above sea level, along the Shayok River. Arrival to camp, then free time to enjoy the changing colours of the lake and the sun setting on the lake’s shores. Pangong Lake is where you’ll spend the night.
Day 7 Pangong – Leh 190 KMS | 5/6 hours
You may have a picture session around the lake in the early morning. Return to Leh after breakfast. Hemis Monastery (5 kilometres from Leh near Kharu) is included on the itinerary as an alternative trip. Hemis is Ladakh’s largest and most valuable monastic complex. By midday, you should be back in Leh. Enjoy a shopping trip of Leh’s local marketplaces in the afternoon. Stay at the hotel for the night.
Day 8 Leh (Departure)
You’ll be taken to Kushok Bakula airport in the morning to catch your journey to your next destination.
