Brandy Nalla to Hemis trek starts from Brandy nalla which is in Serchu village.Drive to Serchu then start this trek which will end at Shang Sumdo.

Tour Program

Day 1: Manali – Sarchu – Brandy Nalla
Drive to Sarchu (3600 m) via Baralacha-La (4950 mt). Trek little ahead and camp at Brandy Nala – the starting point of this trek.

Day 2: Brandy Nala – Jukta
A short trek towards Ligit plain. Day at leisure for acclimatize at Jukta. Overnight stay in tented camp.

Day 3: Jukta – Morangla base (3900m)
The trek is easy following the Beas river. After trekking for an hour, leave the river and trek till you reach the camping site at Morang-La base. Overnight camp.

Day 4: Morang La base – Morang La Pass (5300m) – Lun (4100m)
The trek is a steep climb till Morang-La. After some rest at top, start descending on other side. The trek is steep down-hill in the beginning which later opens-up in a broad plateau. From this places the trek is gentle descent through many valleys till Lun. Overnight camp.

Day 5: Lun to Lungmo Che (4000m)
Start the trek along the river following it down-stream. En route cross a small village ‘Sangth’. You may meet some Tibetan Nomadic groups en route. Overnight camp.

Day 6: Lungmo Che – Yar La Pass (4970m) – Dat
Morning trek to cross Yar-Laa pass. The climb is long but gentle till top. Yar La offers fantastic view of Rupsu plains. Arrive Dat (4200 m) which is a permanently inhabited village. Overnight camp.

Day 7: Dat – Sorra (4950m)
In the morning visit a small Gelukpa monastery at Dat village. Later start trek to Sorra by crossing a small river ” Dat Chu”. Trek till Sorra Chu and after crossing it the trek passes through forested area before reaching Sorra. Set-up camp along the river for overnight stay.

Day 8: Sorra – Zalung Karpo La (4200m)
Morning start trek with climb to a small pass for about 1 hr. From this point, you can see Zalung Karpo La. After some time the valley opens-up. Overnight camp.

Day 9: Mid Camp – Langtan Chu (4750m) 7-8hrs
An early morning trek through valleys. This day one has to cross many small streams. The trek is gradual climb till you reach the camp site near Langtan Chu. Overnight camp.

Day 10: Langtau Chu – Nimaling (4700m)
Morning trek to Nimaling – enroute cross two ridges (5000 m & 5060 m). Later on cross Konka Wangpo pass (5090 m). Descend from the other side of the pass to high altitude pasture land of Nimaling. Overnight camp.

Day 11: Full day in Nimaling
spend the day at leisure or explore surroundings area. Nimaling is also the base camp for climbing Mt. Kang-Yatse (6400 m). Overnight camp.

Day 12: Nimaling – Kangmaru La (5100m) – Chogdo
Morning start climbing to Kongmaru-La. After some time at pass descend from the other side of the pass. The descend is steep in the beginning and gradual after an hour of trek before entering a narrow valley. At some stretch, the trek passes through very narrow gorge. The valley opens at Churkimo and little further is the Chogdo. Overnight camp.

Day 13: Chogdo – Shang – Hemis – Leh
Trek till Shang Sumdo. From here drive to Hemis Monastery. Its one of the oldest & impressive monasteries of Ladakh. Visit the monastery and later drive to Leh.
