Nun Peak

Nun Peak (7,135 metres / 23,409 feet) is the highest mountain in the magnificent Nun Kun Massif and one of the most famous expedition peaks in the Indian Himalayas. Located in the Suru Valley of Kargil district, Ladakh, Nun Peak dominates the skyline with its towering snow-covered summit, massive glaciers, and breathtaking alpine scenery.

Unlike many restricted peaks in the Karakoram, Nun Peak is one of the few 7,000-metre mountains in India that is open for mountaineering expeditions with the required permits. The expedition usually begins from Leh or Kargil before driving to the roadhead near Tangol village, followed by a trek to the base camp.
